KANSAS CITY —Authorities are investigating after a victim was rescued from small lake in Kansas City on Christmas Eve.
Just after 11:45p.m. Wednesday, the Kansas City Fire Department was dispatched to a reported water rescue near the 8400 block of North Overland Court, according to Battalion Chief Riley Nolan.
First responders found a man who was in waist deep water and stuck in the mud, approximately 30-40 yards off the bank. Rescue crews deployed a rope bag, by throwing it out to the victim, who was able to grab it and was then assisted to shore at 12:16 a.m.
The victim was evaluated by on-scene personnel and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. It is unknown how he ended up in the water. The KCFD released no additional details.
