T-Bird baseball, softball, announce schedule updates for week

CONCORDIA -- As extremely cold temperatures continue to cause problems across a large portion of the United States, the Cloud County Community College baseball and softball programs have announced schedule changes for the remainder of this week.

For the second time this season, the T-Bird softball team has seen their scheduled season opener canceled as Thursday's home doubleheader against the Ottawa University JV team has been canceled. At this time, there is no plan to reschedule the games with the Braves but there is the potential for games to be added to the schedule to replace the lost games as the schedule permits later on in the spring. With the cancelation, CCCC is now expected to see their 2021 campaign begin on Feb. 25 with a 3 p.m. home doubleheader against the Bethany College JV team as long as weather permits.

The Cloud County baseball team has seen a number of changes to this weekend's schedule at the University of Central Oklahoma JUCO Festival as a number of teams have dropped out due to the cold and uncertainty of potentially more unfavorable weather. As things currently stand, Cloud County is now scheduled to play on Sunday, February 21st with an 11:30 AM contest against Labette Community College before taking on nationally-ranked Crowder College at 4 p.m. Those games were originally scheduled for Saturday, but will now take the place of CCCC's Sunday game against Coffeyville which has been canceled. If the Edmond, Oklahoma area were to receive any more snow between now and the weekend, the whole Festival is expected to be canceled.

If any other schedule changes occur throughout the semester, they will be announced as they happen on www.cloudtbirds.com. Fans can also get schedule updates regarding all Cloud County athletic teams by following @CCCCSports on Twitter and liking Cloud County Athletics on Facebook.
