GLADSTONE, Mo. —Authorities are investigating the cause of a deadly explosion at a single-family home in the 100 Block of NE 74th Terrace in the Kansas City suburb of Gladstone. Investigators found one unidentified body at the scene.
Just after 11a.m. Saturday, crews from city of Gladstone and the Kansas City Fire Department responded to the property where the home was completely destroyed, according to Gladstone Battalion Chief Mike Desaultels.
As a precaution, adjacent homes were evacuated. Crews found the body of one victim. No other injuries were reported. The area was secured and reported to be safe.
The Kansas City Fire Dept. assisted Gladstone with 4 pumper companies, 2 truck companies, HazMat, and a Drone, according to KCFD Battalion Chief Riley Nolan.
