Sheriff: Alleged social media threat in Kansas school district

COFFEY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities and officials with USD 245 Southern Coffey County in Leroy are investigating a social media threat to the school district, according to a statement from the Coffey County School District.

"No matter the credibility of any threat, the Sheriff's Office will investigate, and all steps will be taken to ensure all students and faculty are provided a safe learning environment," according to Sheriff, Thomas Johnson.

This case is currently active, and any individual identified as being responsible will be prosecuted. Anyone with information should contact Coffey County Sheriff's Office at 620-364-2123.
