It’s been a crazy season for high school basketball but we’ve reached the midway point of the season which means misdeason tournaments are upon us.
For Southeast of Saline, this will once again mean a trip to the Sterling Invitational, and an opportunity to match up with some of the toughest teams in the state.
This year's tournament will feature Southeast of Saline, Sterling, Hugoton, Lyons, Smoky Valley, Kingman, Hutch Trinity and Scott City.
Brackets and seedings have already been announced, with the Lady Trojans entering the tournament as the four-seed, and the Trojans entering as the five-seed.
The Lady Trojans will match up against the 2-4 Lyons Lions at 6:45 on Monday at Sterling High School. Opposite this game is the matchup between 7-0 Sterling and 1-5 Scott City.
If Southeast wins they will face the winner of that game at 4:45 on Thursday. If they lose, they will take on the loser at 3:00 on Tuesday.
The SES boys team will face off against Hutch Trinity at 6pm on Monday at Sterling College. Opposite them on the bracket is a faceoff between 4-1 Lyons and 1-5 Kingman.
If the Trojans win, they will take on the winner at 5:45 on Thursday, while a loss would have them facing the loser at 4:00 on Tuesday.
As always every team in the invitational is guaranteed three games before the end of the tournament, with the finals taking place on Friday night at Sterling College.
We will have coverage of all the action from the Sterling Invitational right here on Salina Post, stay tuned for game previews and recaps next week.
