KANSAS CITY —Investigators are working to determine the cause of a house fire in Kansas City.
Just before 7:30a.m. crews responded to a reported house fire in the 1700 block of E. 79th Street, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.
First arriving crews reported heavy smoke and fire showing from a two-story vacant structure and site of a previous burn. Offensive interior operations were initiated using multiple handlines and searches were conducted.
As the fire progressed the decision to evacuate was made and defensive operations initiated. No injuries were reported.
