Surveillance video shows suspect and Kansas City murder victim

KANSAS CITY —A Kansas City man has been charged in the Nov. 18, 2023, fatal shooting of a man in Kansas City found by police behind a residence, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.

Keylen Madge, 27,  faces Murder 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and two counts of Armed Criminal Action charges.

According to court records, Kansas City police officers were dispatched after residents reported hearing gunshots and persons screaming. Officers located a male victim behind the residence. Officers found a large gathering of people. Detectives reviewed surveillance video from more than one location showing the defendant and the victim.
