CHEROKEE COUNTY—A Kansas man died in an accident just after 9:30a.m. Friday in Cherokee County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2000 Nissan Quest driven by James M. Snow, 57, Galena, was northbound on South Wood Street one half mile south of Kansas 66 in Galena.
The Nissan rear-ended a 2010 Honda Insight driven by Justin Holt, 48, Galena. After impact the Nissan left the road to the right. The driver overcorrected to the left crossing South Wood Street and struck a southbound 2010 Ford Edge driven by Jacob Laster, 30, Joplin.
EMS transported Snow to Freeman West Hospital where he died. A passenger in the Nissan identified as William J. Reagan, 63, Joplin, was transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin. The other drivers were not injured. Snow was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
