GEARY COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a homicide in Junction City.
Just after 4p.m. on Saturday, police were dispatched to the 300 block of West 4th Street in Junction City for a subject reported to be suffering from possible gunshot wounds, according to a media release.
Upon arrival, officers located 66-year-old John Day of Junction City suffering from what was believed to be a gunshot wound. Day was transported to Stormont Vail Flint Hills Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
This incident remains an active investigation. The Junction City Police Department has identified and interviewed all individuals present during the incident. At this time, no arrests have been made.
There is no ongoing threat to the community related to this incident.
