
SEDGWICK COUNTY— A Kansas man arrested by police after a standoff in Hutchinson for killing a man in Wichita was to return to court Wednesday.
Andrew Presley, 31, was scheduled for a preliminary hearing in the courtroom of Judge Christopher Magana. The hearing was postponed early Wednesday, according to the Sedgwick County District attorney's office. The preliminary hearing for Presley in January was also rescheduled.
He was charged with second degree murder in the death of 32-year-old Kelly Black. He is also charged with criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
On July 15, police in Hutchinson arrested Presley after a brief standoff, according to a media release from the Wichita Police Department.
Just before 6p.m. July 13, police responded to a shooting in the 7000 block of E. Lincoln in Wichita.. First responders found Black lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.
Presley remains jailed on bond totaling over $1,000,000.00, according to online jail records.
