4-year-old hospitalized after Kansas drive-by shooting

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a shooting that sent a boy and a man to the hospital.

On Sunday night, police responded to a shooting in the 2600 block of N Park Place, according to Officer Brad Wright.

First responders found a 4-year-old boy with gunshot wounds to his back and buttocks and a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his upper back. Both were transported to a local hospital for observation. 

Investigators learned that the adult victim was driving south on Park Place when someone in a dark SUV traveling north opened fire. The victim attempted to escape by pulling into a driveway and accelerated, but ended up crashing through several fences and a shed.
