Task force finds children during drug bust at Kansas home

SHAWNEE COUNTY  —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a man on numerous charges after a drug bust at a Kansas home.

On Friday, the Topeka Police Department Narcotics Unit and the Shawnee County Drug Task Force served a search warrant in the 5400 BLK SW 18th Street in Topeka related to an ongoing investigation, according to Lt. Jerry Monasmith.

While conducting the search warrant officers found Kanen Garlington-McMurray, 23, Topeka was found to be in possession of marijuana, opiates, and drug paraphernalia.

As a result, Mr. Garlington-McMurry was transported to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Distribution of marijuana with intent within 1000 feet of a school, Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of drug paraphernalia and Aggravated endangering a child.
