Kansas man killed in violent SUV rollover accident

SEDGWICK COUNTY—One person died in an accident jsut after 5a.m. Monday in Sedgwick County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Dodge Nitro driven by Bradley J. Theis, 39, Wichita, was northbound on Interstate 35 and attempted to take the exit at North Hydraulic.  The driver lost control entering the gore area. The SUV became airborne, landed in the east ditch and rolled onto its top after striking a light pole.

Theis was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the  Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.

The gore area is the triangular, or pointed, area of land between a continuing roadway and an adjacent entrance or exit ramp, typically marked by solid white lines.
