SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after a traffic stop.
Just after 2a.m. September 30, a sheriff's deputy conducted a traffic stop on a black 2009 Mercury Milan without an operable tag lamp and with an obscured license plate in the 3800 block of NE Seward Avenue, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
During the investigation, illegal narcotics and open containers of alcohol were located. The driver, Jessica D. Orange, 42, of Topeka, was arrested, booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of possession of a stimulant, possession of drug paraphernalia, aggravated endangering a child, driving under the influence while child present, driving while license revoked, transporting an open container of liquor, license plate cover clear or opaque and defective tag lamps.
