
SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas man accused of killing his neighbor returned to court Wednesday for an arraignment hearing before Judge Seth Rundell.
Allan Taylor Gunneson, 38, pleaded not guilty to voluntary manslaughter and aggravated assault in the shooting death of 48-year-old Brian Baker. His trial is set to begin August 24, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.
Just after 6p.m. September 12, 2025, police responded to the 900 block of South Vassar Avenue in Wichita, according to a statement from police. First responders found Baker in a front yard with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. Baker was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced deceased at 6:41 p.m.
Investigators learned through multiple witnesses that the incident began as an argument and physical altercation between neighbors that led to the gunfire.
When officers arrived, the suspect identified as Gunneson came out of his home and surrendered.
Gunneson remains on Unsupervised Custody; Home Incarceration, according to online jail records.
