
SEDGWICK COUNTY—A Colorado man accused in connection with a crash that killed an 82-year-old Kansas woman was back in court last week for a plea hearing in Judge Quentin Pittman's courtroom.
Austin Hedges, 26, pleaded guilty to charges of reckless involuntary manslaughter in the death of Kathy Knorr, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.

On March 16, 2024, a vehicle driven by Hedges was northbound on Rock Road in Wichita and struck a vehicle driven by Knorr who was turning from Killarney Court onto southbound Rock Road, according to Wichita Police.
EMS transported Knorr to a local hospital. She died on March 30. The Weld County Colorado Sheriff arrested Hedges on April 19 and he was returned to Kansas to face charges.
Hedges met the conditions of bond and will be sentenced at a later date.
