Kan. woman accused of shooting that sent woman to the hospital

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting and have made an arrest.

Just before 8:30p.m.  Wednesday,  police responded to the 4300 block of SW 15th Street in Topeka after reports of gunshots, according to Lt. Donna Eubanks.

Moments later, police received the report of a shooting in the 4400 block of SW 34th Street where officers found a woman with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital. 

As a result of the investigation, police arrested 20-year-old Alize Joy Lay of Topeka on a requested charge of Aggravated Assault. She posted bond and is no longer in custody, according to online booking records.
