
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Authorities investigating the cause of a deadly fire in Topeka that killed 34-year-old Daron Weather have determined the fire was intentionally set.
Just before 5:30a.m. Tuesday, firefighters from the Topeka Fire Department responded to a house fire at 435 SE California Avenue, according to Fire Marshal Alan Stahl.
Upon arrival, crews found a single story house with smoke and flames. Crews extinguished the fire and during a search of the home they found the body of Weather who was deceased.
The cause of the fire was determined to be incendiary and Topeka Fire is not seeking any suspects in this case.
