
TOPEKA —Governor Laura Kelly issued a verbal state of disaster emergency proclamation Monday due to severe weather that impacted the state during the day on Sunday and overnight into Monday, according to a media release from the Kansas Adjutant General's office.
This declaration activates the Kansas Response Plan and the ability to expedite state agency assistance to communities in need.
The spring thunderstorms brought flooding rain, large hail and extreme winds Sunday afternoon and evening across Kansas. There are no injuries reported.

The Kansas Division of Emergency Management is coordinating requests for support from impact counties.
