Sheriff: FAA notified after Kan. woman killed in airplane propellor accident

SEDGWICK COUNTY —The investigation of a fatal weekend accident in Sedgwick County continues.

Just after 2:30p.m. Saturday, Sedgwick County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to an accident at the Air Capital Drop Zone, 7015 S 143rd St. S., according to Sheriff's Lt. Ernie Slay. 

Amanda Gallagher, 37,  Wichita,  made contact with a grounded and stationary, but still running plane, and received critical injuries.  EMS transported Gallagher to Wesley Medical Center.  She was later pronounced deceased from her injuries.

Law enforcement notified the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board of the accident.
