JOHNSON COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 2:30a.m. Wednesday in Johnson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2020 Freightliner semi driven by Jatin Kumar, 25, Santa Clara, California, was northbound on Interstate 35 just south of 127th Street in Olathe. The vehicle drifted to the right shoulder. The driver overcorrected and the semi overturned and struck the median wall.
Kumar was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Forensic Medical. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
