K-State offers support for students affected by Aggieville shooting

MANHATTAN —Law enforcement authorities continue their investigation of  a shooting in Aggieville.

On their social media page, Kansas State University offered support for students  "affected by the shooting in the Aggieville business district."

The university  encouraged students to contact Counseling and Psychological Services at 785-532-6927 or the Office of Student Life at 785-532-6432 or via email at [email protected]. Both offices will be open at 8 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 13. A wide range of university support resources is available to the K-State community, if you or someone you know is experiencing distress, please seek help.  Just before 2a.m. Sunday RCPD officers heard and responded to the reports of gun shots inside Tate’s Bar,  1109 Moro, in the Aggieville Business District, according to a media release from police.

Officers arrived on scene immediately after the shots were fired and found a 24-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and a second 24-year-old male suffering from a minor head injury (concussion). Both victims were transported to Via Christi for treatment of their injuries. The victim suffering from the gunshot wound was later life flighted to Stormont Vail for further treatment.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information, pictures or videos from the incident to please contact Detective Janelle Compagnone at (785) 537-2112 ext. 2301 or [email protected].

MANHATTAN —Riley County Police Detectives are seeking additional information concerning the shooting that took place early Sunday at Tate's Bar in Aggieville.

Specifically, any pictures or videos inside or around Tate's leading up to, during, or immediately after the shooting, according to social media request from the RCPD.

MANHATTAN —Law enforcement authorities investigated a report of shots fired in Aggieville.

At approximately 2a.m., Riley County Police responded to an incident and asked the public in Aggieville to shelter in place, according to a social media report from the RCPD.

Just before 3a.m., EMS transported two individuals to Via Christi for treatment of injuries. The RCPD released no additional details early Sunday.
