Alleged Kansas drug dealer out of jail hours after arrest

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after a traffic stop arrest in Kansas.

Just before 2a.m. on Tuesday, a sheriff's deputy conducted a traffic stop on a black 2003 Chevrolet Trax with an unreadable license plate near SW 11th Street and SW Lincoln Street, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the driver had a suspended driver’s license and illegal narcotics were located.

Just after 4:30a.m., Frederick L. Sanders, 53, of Topeka, was booked into the Shawnee County Dept. of Corrections on  requested charges of Distribute opiate/opium/narcotic/certain stimulant, Possession of an opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant, Use/possess with intent to use drug paraphernalia, Driving while license suspended and for the Display of license plate. According to online jail records he met the requirement for bond and was released from custody at 8:41a.m.
