Kan. deputies followed teens' footprints in the snow, make arrest

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two teen suspects on multiple allegations after a weekend arrest.

Just after 11a.m. January 6, sheriff's deputies were dispatched to TJ’s Express, 5305 South Topeka Blvd. in Shawnee County on a report of a burglary that  occurred overnight.

During the investigation Deputies located footprints in the snow going away from the business. Deputies were able to follow the footprints to the suspect's home in the 6800 block of south west Knoll Court.

At the home deputies located items from this burglary as well as items from a burglary that occurred at the Pauline Food Center, 5812 South Topeka Blvd., on December 2.

Deputies arrested Jayden J. Hanner, 17, and Matthew K. Rodenbaugh, 16, both of Topeka, and booked them into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of burglary, theft and felony criminal damage to property.
