Kansas sheriff's K9 found meth, marijuana during traffic stop

MORRIS COUNT —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects on drug allegations after a traffic stop.

Just after 5:30p.m. April 4, police stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of W. Main St.  in Council Grove for for an alleged traffic violation.

During the stop, the Morris Co. Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 Kimber was deployed and alerted to illegal drugs in the vehicle.

Following a probable cause search, deputies arrested the driver, 61-year-old Scott Berry of Council Grove, and a passenger identified as 24-year-old Wolphen Smith of Latimer.

Both were booked on requested charges that include possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
