Police find 2 Kan. shooting victims at fast food restaurant

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that injured two in Topeka.

Just after 7:00 p.m.Tuesday, police were dispatched to a Sonic Restaurant, 636 NW US 24 Highway in regards to two individuals suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds, according to Topeka Police Lt. Edward Stanley.

One victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries and the other was treated and released at the scene.

It was discovered that the shooting occurred at a separate location, and then the victims drove to the Sonic restaurant and reported the incident, according to Stanley.

Police have not reported an arrest.
