SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating a series of shootings in Topeka and have moved a suspect from the hospital to jail.
On Monday, police booked Tony Williams, 53, Topeka, into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections, according to Lt. Jerry Monasmith.
Just after 5 a.m. Friday, police responded to a shooting in the area of the 1800 Block of SW Gage Blvd. in Topeka, according to Police Lt. Edward Stanley.
First responders found two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Then at 5:44 a.m., police responded to a shooting in the 1000 Block. of SW Plass Avenue. First responders found one individual suffering from gunshot wounds.
All three individuals were transported to a local area hospital, with two of these individuals injuries to be considered non-life threatening and one considered to be life threatening.
Police believed the two incidents were related and identified Williams as a suspect. He was being treated at a local hospital. He is now being held on requested charges of Attempted, Murder in the 1st degree; intentional and premeditated and gambling; making a bet.
