JACKSON COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 2p.m. Friday in Jackson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1984 Ford F250 driven by James A Rolfe, 77, Holton, was southbound on M Road at Kansas 16.
The driver failed to yield at a stop sign intended for southbound traffic. The pickup entered Kansas 16.
An eastbound 2014 Peterbilt semi driven by Kyle Wade Puckett, 34, Pickering, Missouri, struck the Ford. Rolfe was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported Frontier Forensics. Puckett was not injured. Rolfe was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
