Salina USD 305 has announced the details of its Summer Food Service Program's Free Grab-and-Go Lunch.
All children ages 1-18 are eligible for the free meals, which are scheduled to be distributed 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from June 15-July 23. Children must be present to receive the meals. Additionally, adult meals will be available for $5 per meal.
No meals will be served July 5-6, the district noted in a news release. Should there be a severe weather warning, the meal sites will be closed.
No sign-up or paperwork is required for children to participate in the program, according to information from the district.
Drive-through or walk-up distribution will be available at eight sites across the city. They are as follows.
Central High School, 650 E. Crawford Street
Cottonwood Elementary School, 215 S. Phillips Avenue
Heartland Early Education, 700 Jupiter Avenue
Heusner Elementary School, 1300 Norton Street
Salina Fieldhouse, 140 N. Fifth Street
Schilling Elementary School, 3121 Canterbury Drive
South High School, 730 E. Magnolia Road
Sunset Elementary School, 1510 W. Republic Avenue

Additionally, the Salina Area United Way's RAWR (Raising Active, Wild Readers) book giveaway program will be at the meal sites on specific days to distribute free books to children. Those dates are as follows.
South High School, June 21 and July 12
Central High School, June 28 and July 19
Salina Fieldhouse, June 15 and 29 and July 20
Heartland Early Education, June 22 and July 13
Cottonwood Elementary School, June 16 and 30 and July 14
Heusner Elementary School, June 23 and July 7 and 21
