KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement authorities investigated a suspicious package call inside of City Hall in downtown Kansas City late Tuesday afternoon, according to a media release from KCPD.
Officers worked with City Hall staff to evacuate the building. The Bomb and Arson Detectives responded and just before 6p.m. cleared the package and determined it to not be a threat.
The investigation continues into the origin and nature of the package.
The streets surrounding City Hall, 11th and 12th / Oak to Locust, were blocked off in all directions during the investigation.

The streets surrounding City Hall, 11th and 12th / Oak to Locust, were blocked off in all directions. Police asked the public to void this area and be aware of potential traffic delays in the downtown area.
The Bomb and Arson command post bus was on the scene to provide detectives with all of their tools and resources to investigate and evaluate the package as safely as possible. Bomb and Arson detectives continue to use their resources to investigate the package.
