Fatal officer shooting during investigation at Kansas City home

KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement are investigating a shooting involving an Federal Bureau of Investigation agent who shot and killed a suspect who was armed inside home in Kansas City on Monday, according to a media release from the FBI.

Just after 10a.m., the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force was trying to serve a warrant at the residence  in the 3000 block of NW 73rd Street.

Law enforcement officers knocked on a door, and when nobody answered, they went inside the home where they encountered the armed suspect, according to the release.

That person was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.  The agency did not report any additional injuries. The FBI Inspection Division is investigating the shooting.  Check the Post for additional details as they become available.
