MONTGOMERY COUNTY —One person died in an accidenet just before 6a.m.&nbsp; Wednesday in Montgomery County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2024 Mack semi driven by Timothy J. Smith, 66, El Dorado, was eastbound on U.S. 166 in the outside lane while crossing the Verdigris River bridge. The semi rear-ended a Sport E-bike ridden by Kevin D.&nbsp;Hooper, 59, Coffeyville.

Hooper was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to&nbsp;Webb and Rodrick Funeral Home.&nbsp; Smith was not inured and properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
