
JACKSON COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating two women on drug allegations.
Just after 11a.m. March 9, a Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested two individuals after a Jackson County Sheriff’s K-9 alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics within an Acura passenger vehicle near Mayetta, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

During a search of the vehicle, the deputy found methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, and drug paraphernalia.
The driver and registered owner, Paula Louise Michael, 61, of Topeka, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The front seat passenger, Jessica Maria Espinoza, 62, of Topeka, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hallucinogenic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
