SEWARD COUNTY —Law enforcement in southwest Kansas are investigating a suspect on drug allegations.
Early Thursday, a sheriff's deputy initiated a traffic stop on Highway 54 near Kismet for a traffic violation, according to a media release from the Seward County Sheriff.
During the traffic enforcement, the Deputy observed numerous indicators of criminal activity. A subsequent search revealed vacuum-sealed bundles of suspected methamphetamine.
The total approximate weight of the methamphetamine located was 45 pounds. Deputies took a 48-year-old man into custody. He is being held in the Seward County Jail.
The sheriff's office did not release the name of the suspect or specific details on requested charges.
