Police: 2 Kan. men thought they were meeting children for sex

RENO COUNTY— Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects on child sex crime allegations.

On June 16, members of the Special Operations and Investigation Bureau of the Hutchinson Police Department made two arrests through a series of undercover sting operations targeting child predators.

The suspects believed they were speaking with underage children and showed up to meet the children to engage in sexual activity, only to be met by officers of the Hutchinson Police Department.

At approximately 7:05 p.m. on June 16, police arrested 33-year-old Patrick E. Samms of Hutchinson on a requested charge of Electronic Solicitation and Indecent Solicitation of a child.

Two hours later, they arrested 41-year-old Adam D. Winsky of McPherson on a requested charge of Electronic Solicitation, Indecent Solicitation of a child, Interference with Law Enforcement, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving While Suspended.
