Kansas woman dead after pickup, SUV crash

KINGMAN COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 10a.m. Monday in Kingman County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Chevy Silverado driven by Michael McCoy, 42, Kingman, was eastbound on NE 50th Street four miles north of U.S. 54.

The driver failed to stop at the stop sign at the Kansas 14 intersection. The pickup struck a northbound 2014 Toyota Sequoia driven by Gayle  Thornbro, 66, Norwich. After impact the Toyota came to rest upright in the field northeast of the intersection.

Thornbro was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to  Livingston Funeral Home. EMS transported McCoy and a passenger in the Chevy Jennifer Travis, 41, Cunningham, to Wesley Medical Center. Thornbro and Travis were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
