SEDGWICK COUNTY—A man charged in a deadly shooting on a City of Wichita bus will be back in court Friday.
Travis L. Finney, 34, is scheduled to attend a preliminary hearing before Judge Kathleen Watson, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office. The judge could determine whether the case moves forward or Finney could enter a plea.
In October, Finney was charged with first degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon and probation violation in the death of 54-year-old Reginald Griffith, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.
Just after 3:30 p.m. October 16, police responded to a report of a shooting at South Meridian and West Burton in Wichita. When officers arrived, they found a 54-year-old Reginald Griffith suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Sedgwick County EMS pronounced him deceased on scene.
Investigators determined that both Finney and Griffith were passengers on the bus and knew each other. Finney remains jailed on bonds of over $2 million dollars, according to online jail records.
