Kansas murder suspect captured in Oklahoma

JOHNSON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a deadly weekend shooting and have made an arrest.

On Saturday, sheriff's deputies responded to reported suspicious death at a home in the 500 Block of West Edgewood in Edgerton, according to Sheriff Calvin Hayden.

First responders found a deceased man later identified as 27-year-old Cade H. Blackburn inside the home. After an investigation it was determined the death was a homicide.

Investigators began looking for a suspects known to Blackburn. The suspect was later arrested in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, according to Hayden. According to online jail records, deputies booked 31-year-old Joseph Wacaster into the Osage County jail just after 4:31a.m. Saturday. He is being held for authorities in Johnson County, Kansas as a fugitive from justice.
