Kansas woman dead, 2 others injured after 2-vehicle crash

JACKSON COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 5p.m. Saturday in Jackson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Toyota Rav4 driven by Jamie Lynn Wells, 38, Topeka, was northbound on U.S. 75 three miles south of Holton.  The SUV struck a 2007 Honda CRV driven by Dianna Faye Slavens, 77, Topeka, who was entering U.S. 75 from a private drive and failed to yield.

Slavens was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the Shawnee County Coroner's Office.

EMS transported Wells and a passenger in the Honda Alva E. Goff  Jr., 89, Topeka, to the Holton Community Hospital. All three were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
