Police capture suspect wanted for murder of Kansas woman

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating a deadly shooting have made an arrest

Just before 6p.m. Friday, police were dispatched to a shooting in the 600 block of SW Fillmore in Topeka, according to Police Lt. Ron Ekis. First responders found 45-year-old Jennifer Eisele of Topeka. suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

As a result of the investigation, police arrested Steven Hunter Jr., 46, of Topeka and booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections, according to Police Lt. Donna Eubanks.

He is being held on requested charges of Murder in the 1st degree; intentional,  Criminal possession of a weapon by a felon, Interference with law enforcement officer; knowingly flee by means other than a motor vehicle for felony case, according to
