SEDGWICK COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 6a.m. Monday in Sedgwick County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2000 GMC G1500 van driven by Joseph Bailey Clementi, 34, Wichita, was westbound on Kansas 96 at 151 Street West.
The van left the road, entered the median and struck the trailer of a 2024 Kenworth semi driven by Monica R. Dawes, 57, Emporia, who was stopped at the stop sign, facing south.
Clementi was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Sedgwick County Forensics Science Center. Dawes was not injured. Clementi was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
