A small earthquake shook part of Dickinson County near Herington this afternoon. 

According to the Kansas Geological Survey (KGS), a 2.7 magnitude quake occurred at 2:10 p.m. Thursday. It was centered just north of Kansas Highway 4 between Sage Road and Trail Road.
