McPHERSON – A Kansas woman entered a no-contest plea to charges of second-degree reckless murder and battery on a law enforcement officer in connection with the death of a McPherson man in 2020, according to Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt.
Tina Nicole Brown, 35, entered the plea Wednesday in McPherson County District Court.
The charges stemmed from an investigation into the death of Kelly G. Peterson in February 2020 when police received a 911 call from someone who reported finding a man dead inside a mobile home in the 100 block of South Kelly drive, in McPherson. First responders found Peterson and EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
Judge John B. Klenda accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for November 1 at 10 a.m.
