SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two Kansas men on multiple allegations after a traffic stop.
Just before 4a.m. May 11, a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) deputy with the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a white 2000 Ford F-150 pickup truck causing a traffic hazard near NW Gordon Street and NW Van Buren Street, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
Two men were attempting to unload a spray painted black motorcycle from the bed of the pickup truck.
During the investigation, a K9 Unit was utilized and illegal narcotics were located. An illegal sawed off shotgun was also located and the motorcycle was reported stolen out of Shawnee County.
Deputies arrested Scott L. Kemble, 51, of Scranton, was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of distribution of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of stolen property, criminal use of a weapon and criminal possession of a weapon.
David L. Newton Jr., 53, of Topeka was arrested and booked on requested charges of distribution of methamphetamine, distribution of marijuana, possession of stolen property, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and distributing certain depressants.
