Kan. deputy finds heroin, meth in suspicious vehicle

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspect on multiple felony charges after an arrest.

Just after 8 a.m. Friday, a deputy on patrol discovered a suspicious 2007 Ford Mustang parked in an abandoned lot in the 3700 block of NW 35th Street in Shawnee County, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.

During the investigation, heroin and methamphetamine  were located inside the vehicle. Both occupants, Clay H. Sanford III, 33, and Kayla L. Price, 31, both of Topeka, were taken into custody.

They were booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. Sanford was booked on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Price was arrested for a felony warrant and requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with law enforcement, according to Christian.
