SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect caught driving a stolen SUV.
Just after 11:30p.m. January 21, a sheriff's deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a reported stolen 2020 Chevy Trax near SE 21st Street and SE Hudson Boulevard, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
The driver, later identified as 20-year-old Braeden J.S. Hill of Topeka refused to stop and initiated a pursuit. A K9 Unit performed a controlled vehicle intervention maneuver, which safely ended the pursuit in the 6300 Block of Se 69th Street. Deputies arrested Hill on requested charges of Flee or Attempt to elude law enforcement, possession of stolen property, reckless driving and other traffic violations.
