15-year-old Kan. boy accused of shooting teen in the face

SEDGWICK COUNTY — Wichita Police arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with a shooting that left a teen wounded. 

Just after 9:30p.m. Saturday, police responded to a local hospital regarding a walk-in shooting involving a 17-year-old boy.

Preliminary investigations indicate the victim was visiting friends in the 2900 block of North Vassar Avenue when the suspect fired a single round, striking the victim in the cheek and upper torso.

Officers responded to the residence where they recovered a firearm and arrested a 15-year-old boy. He was booked into the Juvenile Intake Assessment Center on requested charges of aggravated battery with a firearm and criminal use of a weapon.
