Jury: Woman guilty in drug deal death of Kansas teen

JOHNSON COUNTY —A Kansas woman accused of a deadly overdose death is guilty, according to a jury in Johnson County.

Last week, a jury convicted 48-year-old Trina L. Golden of distribution of drugs causing death and use of a communication facility during a drug felony, according to Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe.

The victim was 19-year-old Maddelyn Miller who died of an overdose in July of 2020 at her home in Overland Park.

According to her obituary, Miller attended Olathe East High School, graduated in 2019 and  planned to study at Johnson County Community College. Golden is scheduled for sentencing in September.
