MONTGOMERY COUNTY —A Kansas teen died in an accident just after 1:30a.m. Sunday in Montgomery County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2020 Chevy Silverado driven by Kasenn Lane Dollar, 18, Liberty, Kansas, was eastbound on U.S. 160 three and one half miles west of Independence.
The pickup traveled left of center and struck a westbound 2017 Dodge Charger driven by Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputy Justin Dean Ward, 26, Independence, head-on. After impact the pickup also struck a westbound 2022 Dodge Durango driven by Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputy Zachary Clyde Farmer, 28, Independence.
Dollar was pronounced dead at the scene. Ward was transported to Ascension St. Johns, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
EMS transported a passenger in the Silverado Amir Luten, 18, and Farmer to Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Dollar and Luten were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
