KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement investigating another homicide in Kansas City, Missouri have identified the victim as 27-year-old Calvin Washington, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.
Just after 6:30pm Monday, police dispatched to the 5800 block of Michigan in Kansas City, Missouri on a sound of gunshots call, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.
On arrival officers located Washington unresponsive near a vehicle in the street, in front of a house on the block.
Officers called for EMS who responded for treatment and transported Washington to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A short time later officers were notified by hospital personnel he was declared deceased from his injuries.
Investigation led officers to a subject of interest at a nearby location, that subject was detained for further investigation. The subject of interestt was released pending further investigation. Ultimately an investigative case file will be presented to prosecutors for their decision on applicable charges.
